Larry Weishuhn's on a whitetail hunt in Oklahoma when out of nowhere a beautiful buck with a curly 8 to 9-inch comes into shooting range. Unfortunately for Larry he promised the outfitter that he would only shoot a deer that was five or six years old and this unique buck was only 3 1/2.
No one knows for certain what causes drop tines in dee, some bucks will have them one season and not the follow while others will have them their entire life. Sure genetics probably play a role in this but to what extent, isn't known. Injury when a bucks antlers are still in the velvet stage can also cause drop tines.
