Using the Terrain

Posting on the edge of a ravine or deep draw just may be your best option for ambushing that buck.

Most bowhunters assume a position in a treestand as this offers the best overall advantage. But when the terrain permits, take up a perch on the edge of a ravine or deep draw as Dave Maas did in this hunt out west.

He points out that you can find a nice vantage point without necessarily climbing, especially when you're on a new piece of ground. It just may be your best option for ambushing that buck.
