There's little question that Illinois offers some of the best bucks you'll find in the midwest, but if you're a non-resident you are limited to one with a bow and one with a muzzleloader or shotgun.
That's the situation Melissa Bachman finds herself in here in December. With one on the ground from her bow hunt, she's now eyeing the late season possibilities. Time is running out on the year if she wants to cash in on one more animal.
The ground has been worked and the food plots are paying off, so she grabbed her muzzleloader and headed to her favorite field. When that doesn't pan out she looks to a nearby turnip field she had helped put in. It can be hard to pass on mature bucks but she knows the potential and decides to hold out for the big guy.
