Part 2 of outdoor writer Gayne C. Young's trip to the Ox Ranch

We ran into giraffe, bongo, kudu, and…is that an ostrich?

From the dinosaur tracks, Tony and I headed to one of the highest points on the ranch to see where historical log architect Andy Mills is constructing a honeymoon cabin.  The view was spectacular.  And the cabin’s gonna be first class.

On the way back down we ran into a mob of kangaroos.

Not a mob like dangerous mind you.

But mob as in that’s the collective noun used to describe a group of kangaroo.

And that’s your English lesson for the day.

We bid the mob good day and headed to Ox Ranch owner Brent Oxley’s tank garage.

That’s right.

Brent has three fully functional tanks and a host of other military armaments on the property and all available to hire.

The tank barn also has a nice bar.

Is that Brad Pitt?

Nope.

Just his clothes from Fury.

But I was after an ostrich and had little time so off we went again.

We ran into giraffe, bongo, kudu, and…is that an ostrich?

Stay tuned.
