The first gold medal at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro went to
Ginny Thrasher on Saturday morning!
The 19-year-old shooter from West Virginia University brought home the gold in the women's 10-meter air rifle event.
This victory comes just after Thrasher won the NCAA's air rifle title as a freshman in March as a member of West Virginia University’s rifle team.
Congrats to Miss Thrasher and….
USA! USA! USA!
