Founded in England by gun maker William Westley Richards in 1812, the firm of Westley Richards is world renowned for its superb firearms, accessories, and leather goods. For nearly two centuries the firm has been the first choice for royalty and sportsmen with discriminating taste and an eye for quality workmanship. This level of craftsmanship has won the firm countless patents, more than a dozen appointments (a royal warrant decreeing a preferred provider) and countless accolades from hunters the world over.
One of the firm’s most lasting successes came at the hands of John Deeley and William Anson who, in 1875, created and patented the Anson & Deeley boxlock action. Found on break-open guns, this action is considered to be one of the most widely used mechanisms in the world.
Today Westley Richards continues to produce bespoke shotguns and rifles as well as boots, cartridge belts, gun accessories, and other leather products.
