Jumbo Shrimp

Massive mystery creature pulled from the sea off coast of Florida. Could it possibly be some type of giant Mantis Shrimp?

Can you say Jumbo Shrimp? Recently, Florida fisherman Steve Bargeron took these photos of a fellow fisherman who hooked this massive crustacean in Fort Pierce, Florida. The creature was described as about 18-inches-long and striking its own tail.

While scientists have yet to determine the exact species, it is speculated it might be a type of mantis shrimp. (Which is neither a mantis nor a shrimp!)
