The 20 Most Influential Bass Fishing Lures

Here are the 20 bass fishing lures Wired2fish editors deemed the most influential to bass fishing tackle and anglers over the years.

Here is a rundown of our 20 Most Influential Bass Fishing Lures of All Time countdown. It was a lot of fun putting this countdown together, and we thoroughly enjoyed reading your thoughts and comments on the selections.

Obviously there were some folks who thought this was a "favorite lures" list. But it wasn't. We were simply looking for the lures over the years that have had big impacts on bass fishing and the manufacturing of fishing tackle. What lures really changed the landscape of bass fishing and the fishing industry?

The other problem we found is 20 is a very small number. And that left out a lot of baits we really wanted to work into the mix but never could seem to find a way to get them in there. Lures like the Sweet Beaver, Devil's Horse, Tiny Torpedo, Power Worm, Snagproof Frog and Pork Frogs were borderline in the low 20s and just couldn't bump one of our others out of the mix.

We hope you enjoyed the list and since we figured some folks missed a few here and there, here is the entire list, with links to each with photos and explanations of why that lure was selected at that number.
