How to Long-Line Crankbaits

Elite Series pro and crankbait expert John Crews explains an often overlooked technique that allows your favorite deep-diving crankbaits to get even deeper.

Long-lining crankbaits is an excellent technique that allows anglers to further increase the running depth of deep-diving crankbaits. An angler locates the school of bass or even individual bass on his sonar unit, turns and makes a cast, then loops around the bass with the line overtop of them while using the trolling motor, or even the big motor at times, to move away while the reel is still disengaged, taking out almost all of their fishing line.

Elite Series pro and cranking extraordinaire John Crews has enjoyed continued success with this technique and in this video, he teaches you everything you need to know about it.
