A swing head jig is a strong performing system for delivering craw imitating lures on a solid bottom of sand, gravel and even rock. Compared to standard jigs, they provide unmatched trailer action, enhanced resistance to snagging, and arguably better hooking and retention. Elite Series pro Davy Hite walk us through how he employs VMC’s Swingin’ Rugby Head matched with his favorite craw trailer. It’s a system of feel and requires a slightly different approach to retrieve and hook sets, but when mastered, will catch bass well over hard bottoms and especially when crawfish are the predominant forage.
