Summary: The Emeralds got the type of pitching one would expect from a team with the best record in the Northwest League: solid. John Barbato was considered the top prospect and, although he struggled with consistency at times, ended up showing flashes of the potential that earned him the big signing bonus in 2010.

Eugene, OR: The Emeralds (18-3) were able to bounce back from their streak-ending loss last night to beat the Yakima Bears (6-14) 6-2. The dominant pitching and another homer from Lee Orr guided the Emeralds to the win.
