The last time we chatted with Southwestern DE Leonard Brown (6-4, 270) he was still waiting for his first offer, but this weekend he got some good news on an official visit to UTEP and he said he's close to making a decision on where he will continue his college football career.

Brown shows he has all the right moves

One of the pleasant surprises of the SoCal combine was the performance of Southwestern DE Leonard "L.J." Brown (6-5, 268), who has took the long way to becoming a top D-1 prospect. After an excellent offseason, Brown is ready to show everyone what he can do this year and he's already gotten lots of attention from BCS schools across the country.

Southwestern College Preview

Southwestern College has had talent over the years but has struggled with consistency, in part due to coaching turnover. In 2007, with a coaching change completed, the Jaguars are hoping to become more consistent -- very soon. was able to speak with defensive line coach Eric Sanchez, who broke down the D-1 and D-1AA talent on both sides of the ball.
