Spring Depth Chart: The D-Line

THE VANDAL OFFENSIVE LINE HAS STOLEN THE HEADLINES THIS SPRING, but equally crucial will be how the Vandal defense recovers from its 2009 struggles. How much Idaho improves on the defensive side of the ball will depend in large part on how much they improve in the trenches. Among the team leaders, Idaho will have senior defensive end AARON LAVARIAS (6-3, 255) as a cornerstone to build around.

Vandals Welcome 21 Athletes to Moscow

Today Robb Akey and his Vandal football program received 20 National Letters of Intent, including an 8:50am signature from future Vandal defensive end HANK BRYANT, the 6-4, 222-pound Evergreen Conference Player of the Year out of the state of Washington. Combined with the early signing of juco star defensive back Virdell Larkins (already on campus), a total of 21 players will join the program.

LOI Day Surprise! Smith picks Idaho

Earlier this recruiting season Desert Pines senior CHARLES SMITH, a 6-6, 240-pound defensive end, made a verbal commitment to the University of Idaho. On January 20th he changed his commitment from Idaho to San Diego State. He later took a recruiting trip to Colorado State, gave all of his options some SERIOUS thought, and ultimately chose the University of Idaho over numerous offers.

BREAKING NEWS: Vandals land sought DE

THE IDAHO FOOTBALL PROGRAM was the ultimate deal maker but give an assist to Vandal d-tackle Michael Cosgrove as well. Cosgrove's good friend, a 6-foot-6 238-pound defensive end, who held offers from San Diego State, Wyoming, UNLV, Colorado State and others, has gone silver and gold following his official visit to Moscow this weekend.
