Padres Prospect Report: June 22, 2009

San Antonio moved a game closer to a first half title, despite nine runs allowed by Nathan Culp. Brian Joynt provided the game-tying homer and scored a run that put them ahead in the 10th. Eugene picked up their first win of the season with Jason Codiroli and Vince Belnome pacing the offense. Pedro Martinez is stellar for the DSL Padres while Carlos Garcia goes deep.

Jeremy Hefner is in line for the win in Portland but takes a no-decision while Kyle Blanks provides the only offense. Ernesto Frieri wins his league leading seventh and is backed by Brian Joynt and Luis Durango. Allen Harrington gets a start but doesn't fare well. Matt Clark is back in the RBI lead and Anthony Bass picks up win number six.

Rolando Valdez lasts just one inning in a shutout loss with Triple-A Portland. A four-run innings is enough support for Stephen Faris. Logan Forsythe goes yard and Luis Martinez extends his on base streak to 27. Matt Clark clubs a pair while Anthony Bass is superb again. Jean Corpas picks up another win for the DSL Padres while Manuel Nuno paces the offense with four RBI.
