Bryant Allen, a 6-foot athlete from Maplewood-Richmond Heights who committed to Minnesota last month, will make his official visit this weekend. Allen, who was named the all-purpose player on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro team, picked the Gophers over interest from Missouri and Kansas. Allen, a basketball standout, hopes to play both sports in college.

Head coach Tim Brewster had a home visit with Allen last night, closing the deal.

"Recruiting has been fun, but it's time to get down to business and time to get the decision done," said wide receiver Bryant Allen. "I don't want to wait until January because I don't want the offers to be gone." Allen will be announcing his decision on Dec. 18 without having taken a single official visit and admits his top three are now Missouri, Minnesota and Kansas.

The only official visit Bryant Allen has scheduled is to Missouri on Dec. 12, but he has been to several schools unofficially, including Minnesota, Indiana and Wisconsin.
