Travis Diener Evaluates the Players

Travis Diener was one of the best PGs ever to play at Marquette. The ‘great PG’ evaluates his options on the court and finds the teammate with the hot hand. Recently, I asked Travis to evaluate the current players.

Q +A : with transfer PG Matt Carlino

Marquette benefitted from the 'Russell Wilson' rule when Trent Lockett transferred from Arizona State for his '12-13 Senior season. Lockett did not have to sit out and added a graduate degree from Marquette. Carlino, meanwhile, expects to be better in large part because of his teammates.

Cougars eager for time to shine

When the Cougars begin postseason play on Friday against either Pepperdine or San Diego, they will do so with a number of players that didn't participate during last year's postseason. One such player – midyear transfer Matt Carlino – was redshirting, while another – Brandon Davies – had just been suspended. This year, however, they will get their shot to lead BYU to postseason glory.
