After missing out on a scholarship offer from Rutgers in February, Andrew Opoku finally got one when he visited the school on Wednesday. However, Rutgers did not get the commit it was hoping fo. Instead, Opoku, a safety at who is at Fork Union (Va.) Military Academy, celebrated Thanksgiving by choosing another Big East school.

Today, he is scheduled to meet with Rutgers coach Greg Schiano. A former Temple commit who is now playing at Fork Union Military Academy is getting serious interest from Rutgers and Connecticut. The player grew up in the shadows of the Rutgers campus, and talks about his recruitment, what schools he favors and how he has changed after spending time at a military academy. Talented 6'5 215 lb Andrew Opoku has opened up his recruitment again. The former North Brunswick (NJ) standout was a late addition to Temple Owls' class of 2009. According to Opoku, after signing with the Owls on Signing Day this past February, he soon came to learn that Temple had over exhausted their resources and didn't actually have a scholarship to contribute to him.

North Brunswick, N.J., product Andrew Opoku thought by now he'd be raking in the offers, however he was unable to get out to many camps this summer and really has yet to solidify himself at a true position. He is still talking to a handful of schools though and talked to us about them on Sunday.
