15 Youthful Questions for John Allen

WHEN YOU'RE shooting baskets in a park not far from Husky Stadium and a guy in a t-shirt with a Cougar logo walks up and looks like he can really hoop, the first instinct is to say "Go Cougs!" When you find out his name, lots of questions start to circle your head because he is no doubt the most-talked-about former WSU basketball walk on in the history of the message boards.

PULLMAN – Patrick Simon, a diehard Washington State fan while growing up in Ephrata, had only good things to say about WSU when he chose to transfer after last season to seek more playing time. And so far, so good at his new school. That's not the case for former WSU tight end Aaron Dunn, who left Pullman to pursue basketball at Western Washington.

Cougar Hoops Notebook

COUGAR BASKETBALL coach Tony Bennett, prepping for this weekend's Legends Classic in Newark, N.J., said center Fabian Boeke and guard John Allen still aren't ready for game action due to back problems. Neither has played in the Cougars' four games this season. Meanwhile, freshman guard Michael Harthun won't be making the trip east after being suspended for an undisclosed team rules violation.

RBK Summer Championships: Sunday

The first day of the Reebok Summer Championships kicked off today and we saw a lot of quality basketball. Isaiah Armwood and Ari Stewart were both great during their morning games, and John Allen and Curtis Dennis came out of nowhere for solid performances.
