BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Championship Sunday at the Sabes Invitational featured a little bit of everything. There were blowouts, there was drama and there were two hard fought championship games bringing a solid weekend of basketball to a strong close.
The St. Louis Eagles rallied from a 15-point second half deficit to defeat the Houston Hoops in the Sabes Invitational 17-and-Under title. The victory qualified the Eagles for a spot in the Nike Peach Jam in July.
Saturday at the Sabes Invitational saw the field in each the 17 and 16 under divisions get pared down to eight teams. Some of the usual suspects like 2011's Brad Beal were doing their thing while a few new guys like Brandon Dawson crept onto the radar.
HOUSTON, Tex. – There were a handful of great games, but none better than the Oak Hill Academy versus Yates game, which came down to a last second shot.
