THEY SAID THE HAWAII BOWL would be a dandy but I doubt they envisioned this.. Oregon State trounced Boise State 38-23. The OSU victory showcased an aggressive Beaver defense and some old fashioned ground and pound on offense. Many thought a mere field goal would separate the two teams in the end. Oh boy were they wrong…

BOWL GAMEDAY: Oregon State vs. Boise State

IT'S FINALLY HERE. Will it be an early Christmas present the Beavers get to unwrap, or will Boise State shove a lump of coal in the Oregon State stocking? For as convoluted as projecting a college football matchup can become, this one, the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, seems rather simple.

BF.C BOWL GAME IN-DEPTH: Boise State defense

CORVALLIS – Let's take the magnifying glass to Boise State's D. The Broncos have many threats in the stop corps but who is the Big Kahuna, and why? What makes their defense unique, and what challenges will they present to Beavers in the Hawaii Bowl? (Dec. 24, ESPN, 5 p.m.) Will Sean Mannion have time to throw, and what needs to happen to make him effective? All that and a prediction, of sorts.

Beavs put ASU in rear view, ready for UW

CORVALLIS – It's all about the Huskies now, the loss to ASU is ancient history to OSU. Mike Riley and his team took to the Truax Center on Tuesday with renewed energy and pep in their step. The offense was sharp, the defense aggressive and quick on their feet. But with such a huge tilt against the UW and Senior Night looming, why were the Beavs all smiles and seemingly so relaxed on Tuesday?

Why Beavs' furious comeback fell short

THIS TIME, there would be no miracle comeback. This time, Cinderella took her shoes off before the clock struck zeros, strolled out of Reser and went in search of a Sizzler salad bar instead of In-N-Out Burger. OSU, incredibly, put themselves in position to tie it -- but four tries from inside the Stanford 10-yard line provided a perfect microcosm on the Beavs' 20-12 loss to No. 6 Stanford.

PRACTICE: Mannion in a groove; D eyes SDSU

CORVALLIS – Oregon State's second practice ahead of Saturday's contest at San Diego State looked solid. But what's the story on the RBs? The D got both good and bad news on the injury front. Mike Riley talked SDSU in the media huddle, and shed light on where D.J. Alexander is at after his first game. The O-line barreled ahead despite the ongoing injured, and Sean Mannion was in a groove.

PRACTICE: As usual, Seumalo a bright spot

CORVALLIS- Looking ahead to Utah, most would probably agree the three biggest areas facing the Beavs are the offensive line, linebackers and secondary. So how did they look in Thursday's practice? First, though, BF.C had a few questions for Mike Riley.

DAY 18: Harlow and Bolden will play in '13

CORVALLIS – Lots of nuggets coming out of Oregon State on Saturday. A trio of o-linemen sat out on Day 18 but the tight ends unit made some noise while a scout team WR turned heads. Also, OSU's head man reveals two additional players who will burn a redshirt year. All that and more in this Day 18 offensive report from BF.C.
