IAHS safety Asian Ruff was one of the first prospects for the 2010 class to receive an offer from Mississippi State. Signing day came and went, but Ruff was left without a scholarship slot in Starkville. After a mid week meeting with the Mississippi State staff, Ruff has elected to walk on and earn a scholarship.

Mississippi safety Asian Ruff will be taking his first official visit this weekend to Arkansas. "As soon as I get back from Arkansas I should know," Ruff said about his top choice. "I've come close to doing it," said Asian Ruff about committing to Arkansas. "But I think I need to take my visit there and see if it's for sure. I want to make sure I feel comfortable and at home there." He plans to officially visit Arkansas in January, but doesn't have an exact date yet. "Some of the coaches are gonna be coming to my house and I'm sure we'll set up a visit then..."

Asian Ruff and Itawamba AHS knocked off defending 4A state champs Noxubee county in the north state semi-finals. The final hurdle between IAHS and the state title game was Lafayette County. This past weekend the two teams squared off with IAHS coming out on the short end of the stick.
