Greg Rohan reached the 50 RBI plateau at Peoria. Tarlandus Mitchell had a rough start at Boise, as did Casey Lambert in the AZL.

Hitting was the highlight of the Cubs' farm system on Wednesday. Tennessee went back in time – 100 years, to be exact – and totaled 13 hits. Daytona's D.J. LeMahieu kept his hitting streak alive, and Peoria tied its season high in runs and hits.

Salt Lake City pitching put a halt to Iowa's win streak Monday despite another solid pitching performance from Thomas Diamond. Alberto Cabrera righted the ship in his third start at Tennessee. Chris Rusin turned in his best outing for Daytona. Matt Cerda's three hits paced Peoria's offense.

J.R. Mathes turned in his second straight quality start, but Iowa's offense sputtered and managed just four hits behind him. Chris Carpenter got his first Double-A victory for Tennessee. Josh Vitters had his best game of the season, collecting a career-high four hits for Daytona. Nicholas Struck threw the Cubs farm system's first no-hitter of 2010.

The Oakland A's announced on Thursday that they had traded reliever Jeff Gray, outfielder/first-baseman Matt Spencer and right-hander Ronny Morla to the Chicago Cubs for third-baseman Jake Fox and second baseman Aaron Miles. The move gives the A's more depth in their infield and likely signals that veteran free agent Adam Kennedy will not return.
