More Vanderbilt players get NFL shot

Last time we looked at the draft aftermath for the Commodores two drafted players. Both Zac Stacy and Ryan Seymour will go into camp with their new teams looking to show enough talent to (at worst) be stashed away on the practice squad to learn the game at the NFL level. They will not be the only former black and gold players trying to fight their way onto an NFL squad in 2013.

Now that the NFL Draft is a little over a day away it is time we looked at what the prospects are for Vanderbilt's players who could make an impact on Sunday's. Earlier we took an in depth look at Zac Stacy, the player widely regarded as the ‘Dores number one NFL prospect. Stacy, Wilson on Media PS All-SEC Teams

Vanderbilt running back Zac Stacy and cornerback Trey Wilson were selected to the SEC media preseason All-SEC team at SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala. LSU, the team picked by the media to win the 2012 conference title, had 13 players selected to the team while defending national champion Alabama had 12 players on the team.

SEC Media Days starts new season for Vandy

Today Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin and three of his players will face a throng of SEC Media in an event that essentially starts the 2012 Commodore football season. Sure you could say Spring Practice was the start but in little over a week the men in Black & Gold will be preparing to face the likes of Steve Spurrier's Gamecocks.
