There isn’t a more wide-open position group on the roster than inside linebacker, where anything and everything will be on the line and the five-game preseason might be welcome in sorting it all out. Sam Barrington, who emerged as a starter late in 2014, Jake Ryan, who emerged as a starter late in 2015, and Blake Martinez, a fourth-round pick in 2016, will battle for starting jobs and playing time.
