For a young man who had only missed two Nebraska home games the entire season, you'd think an official visit might be a bit anticlimactic. Not so, said Husker commit C.J. Zimmerer. Because of the time, because there wasn't a game, this was one of the best visits he's had.

One of the in-state commitments for Nebraska was able to make it to the game this past Saturday. C.J. Zimmerer, a standout for Omaha (Nebr.) Gross, has been to three of the first four games for Nebraska this season. He saw an obvious difference in the crowd's intensity on Saturday night. More than that, he saw a different level of effort from last year to this year.

So there C.J. Zimmerer was, walking into Nebraska camp, one of the latest commitments and he knew it. Going to camps took on a whole new meaning this past week for Zimmerer who attended as a future Husker. While he was there he got to meet up with one of his future teammates and got a chance to work with a legendary fullback from Nebraska.

Within about 24 hours of receiving his offer from Nebraska, C.J. Zimmerer took the Huskers up on it. Zimmerer a 6-foot-2.5 and 215-pound athlete is projected to play fullback in Nebraska. Zimmerer is the first fullback to receive an offer since Dane Todd, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that he does play linebacker. Coach Tim Johnk explains that Zimmerer is a two-way standout.
