QB spot up for grabs for Senior Day game

The Idaho Vandals hope to send out their seniors on a winning note for the second year in a row. Idaho (2-8 overall, 1-4 WAC) plays host to Utah State on Saturday (2pm PST kickoff, live on ESPN3), the team's final home game. The Vandals, which had lost six Senior Day games in a row before finally breaking through last season, hope to make it two in a row for 20 Idaho seniors.

SATURDAY SOPHOMORE QUARTERBACK TAYLOR DAVIS made his first career start at Idaho, as the Vandals took on Hawaii in the Dome. An epic effort by the Vandal D made this a game, holding the Warriors to their fewest points in a win since 2003, and scored a TD on a 70-yard Tracy Carter pick. But it wasn't enough, as Idaho fell 16-14 to Hawaii. QB Brian Reader and LB KOREY TOOMER met with the media.

THE UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO VANDALS are still looking for their first conference win in what has turned out to be a season of disappointment. Coming off a bye, Idaho hosts the Hawaii Warriors on Saturday (2pm PST kickoff), a team that entered the season as a favorite to win the WAC. Coming off a win over New Mexico State, the Warriors enter the game with a 2-1 WAC record while Idaho stands at 0-3.

THE VANDAL OFFENSE CONTINUES TO STRUGGLE, and hasn't scored a touch in regulation since the fourth quarter against Fresno State. Against Louisiana Tech in Idaho's Homecoming game Saturday, the Vandals lost 24-11, with Idaho's points coming on a safety, a punt returned for a touchdown, and a first half field goal. UI-BGSU POST-GAME: Reader & Bass

THURSDAY NIGHT IN THE SEASON OPENER FOR THE VANDALS, Idaho struggled offensively throughout the game to the visiting Falcons. After electrifying the crowd with a spectacular 51-yard pass play to set-up a touchdown on Idaho's opening drive, the offense became mostly punchless for the rest of the game, falling 32-15 to Bowling Green.
