Desmond Simmons, a junior forward from Vallejo, Calif., has decided to transfer from the University of Washington. The 6-foot-7, 225-pound Simmons started 10 games for the Huskies in 2013-14, and 35 games during his UW career, averaging nearly five points and five rebounds a game.

SEATTLE - It was a good news, bad news night for the Washington Huskies as they unveiled their 2012/2013 Men's Basketball team. The good news; a 30-point win over Central Washington in their one and only exhibition game. The bad news; they'll miss one of the leaders for the better part of two months with a knee injury.

SEATTLE - Some nights you have it, and some night you don't. Sunday afternoon against Cal State Fullerton, the Huskies definitely didn't have "it." Yet despite a shooting night when the shots just wouldn't drop, the Huskies still managed to pull out a win thanks to a career night from gritty sophomore Desmond Simmons.

SEATTLE - Despite putting themselves in a 14-point halftime hole, the Washington Huskies used a super-human effort by Desmond Simmons and some clutch free throw shooting to defeat Cal State-Fullerton 74-72 in front of fans Sunday at Alaska Airlines Arena.
