CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Head football coach Ron Zook added the 20th signee to the 2005 class at approximately 8:15 p.m. Wednesday evening when he received a letter of intent from 6-4, 285 junior college All-American Ismail Abdunafi from Elizabeth, N.J. /Elizabeth/Bakersfield College.
With most of the nation's top talent expected to verbal on Feb 2, the NCAA's designated "National Signing Day" speculation is building that either Illinois or Michigan State could receive a signing day coup in the form of Bakersfield (CA)College defensive end <B>Ismail Abdunafi</b>. It is sometimes interesting to watch how recruiting can imitate life. Like a circle, a player can start out at one point, move 180 degrees from it and then end up back where it all began. For Ismail Abdunafi, an All-American DT from Bakersfield (Calif.) College, a love for one conference as a child could end up being the difference when finalizing his four-year college plans. But he's not ready to go there just yet.
