Ron Tanner has the distinction of being the only member of the 2011 Ohio State recruiting class that will be playing in a football game on National Signing Day. The four-star prospect is playing in Texas, in the USA vs. The World all-star game, but he will be at Ohio State next June.

Ohio State received its 17th commitment for the 2011 recruiting class last Friday, when Ron Tanner pledged to the Buckeyes. In a ceremony at Columbus Eastmoor Academy, Tanner gave much credit to his parents, Ron and Kim Tanner (pictured), for their tremendous support. Kim Tanner took the time to speak to Bill Greene about her son's decision.

Friday morning was a special time for Columbus Eastmoor four-star safety Ron Tanner, as he committed to Ohio State in a ceremony at the high school. Tanner had the assembled gathering fooled for a moment when he announced his choice, but quickly revealed his true colors. Bill Greene was on hand and filmed the commitment announcement.
