To claim that the days leading up to National Signing Day were stressful for Escondido, Calif. running back Ricky Seale would be a huge understatement. Seale narrowed down his list of college choices to San Diego State and Stanford months before signing day, and had made it abundantly clear that he was Palo Alto bound if Stanford accepted him. But as Seale can attest, that was no sure thing.

National Signing Day has arrived and brought with it heartburn for Stanford recruiting followers everywhere. A week marked by the loss of several previous Stanford commitments ended with one of Stanford's top recruits making a last-minute switch to a principal rival. On the flip side, Wednesday also brought a top Stanford target who rounds out a deep group of Letter of Intent signees.

One big reason that Ricky Seale has decided to wait before making a commitment is that he hasn't actually been admitted academically by Stanford yet. "I'm supposed to hear from them tomorrow morning," Seale said. So what's been the holdup with admissions? "I had some grade changes that I submitted. So that's why it took a little longer. I'm waiting to hear what happens with that..."
