Five to delay enrollment

BEAVER FANS WILL have to wait, again, to see Reggie Dunn in the orange and black. With just seven weeks until fall camp, Mike Riley and his staff have been working hard to solidify the 2009 roster. This week, Riley officially announced five players who will be delaying enrollment - one a surprise - and not arriving in Corvallis to strap on the pads until 2010.

The OSU '09 class: The projects

THE TALENT IS there, but it is raw and needs time to grow in Corvallis. It's a familiar story, really. Victor Butler, for one, didn't become a starter until his senior season. These are some in the '09 class who need time in the Oregon State program and weight room, and tutelage from the Beaver coaching staff, before they look to earn playing time and become difference makers.

VERBAL: Beavs find right fit in corner

OREGON STATE WILL lose to graduation their starting cornerbacks after this season, both of whom are first team Pac-10 candidates. One who will compete next season in Corvallis to help fill the void is a 6-foot-1 junior college corner with whom Oregon State ramped up their recruiting efforts over the past 3-4 weeks.
