The Army Black Knights football team continues to prepare for their season opener against San Diego on September 8th. The past few weeks have been rather costly with key offensive players Ryan Powis, Malcolm Brown, Ben Jebb, Chevaughn Lawrence and Trenton Turrentine missing practice time with injuries.

Army Football: What to look for, part I

The Black Knights open their football preseason camp this week. Army head coach Rich Ellerson will be looking for the team to rebound after a very disappointing 3-9 2011 campaign. The 2012 Black Knights return most of their key starters on offense that led the nation in rushing. Army's young defense struggled last year. Report Card: Army vs. Temple

The Temple Owls running back duo of Bernard Pierce and Matt Brown took turns running wild over Army's defense. The Owl running backs combined for 290 yards and five touchdowns in an easy 42-14 victory over the Army Black Knights. Temple's huge offensive line, that averages 6-5, 319 pounds, dominated the Black Knights in racing out to a 28-0 first half lead.

Head-to-head: Army vs. Tulane

Army (1-3) returns home to Michie Stadium to face the Tulane Green Wave, hoping to get back on track. The Black Knights were dominated last Saturday on the road Ball State, 48-21. Tulane (2-2) continued its inconsistent season last Saturday when it was blown out 48-27 by Duke on the road. This Saturday's game is the 19th all-time meeting between Tulane and Army.

The Army Black Knights travel to Muncie, Indiana this Saturday to take on the Ball State Cardinals. Army earned its first victory of the season with a 21-14 upset win over the Big Ten conference's Northwestern Wildcats.
