When Tom Crean recruited Steve Novak to play basketball for Marquette University, he didn't recruit a basketball player, he recruited a family. Evidence of that statement was easy to see on Wednesday night twhen he former Marquette star was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 32nd overall pick in the NBA draft.

The stage was set - Steve Novak was surrounded by his family, closest friends, neighbors and former teammates. As the night moved along, the anticipation of where Steve would go was the topic of conversation, but no one knew, not even Steve. And then it happened...with the 32nd pick in the NBA draft, the Houston Rockets selected Steve Novak of Brown Deer, Wisconsin and Marquette University.

As Steve Novak prepares for Wednesday's Draft, we take a look at his senior season in part II of recent MU grad Matt Zuchowski's feature on Novak. In his senior year, Novak had thebest single game performance in Big East history by scoring 41 points and grabbing 16 rebounds vs. #2 ranked Uconn. He later broke the Big East single season 3 point record while shattering MU's career 3 pt record.
