Oregon senior tight end Brandon Williams will retire from football according to Head Coach Chip Kelly. In a release on Friday Kelly indicated Williams has a chronic injury. Williams had two catches last year but was slowed with an unrelated hand injury. The loss puts more pressure on an inexperienced group of back-up tight ends.

TE Brandon Williams faxed his National Letter of Intent to Oregon today on the first day of the early signing period. The 6-4, 245 pounder will enroll at the University of Oregon in January in time for winter term after completing his requirements for an AA degree at Joilet College.
