This week, Iowa State men's basketball Coach Larry Eustachy granted Cyclone Nation's Steve Deace a radio interview for his afternoon program which airs on 1460 KXNO, the flagship for the Cyclone Radio Network. Eustachy addressed a number of topics, including the status of Chris Alexander and Jerome Harper, the big win over Iowa, and his decision to redshirt Adam Schaper.

7-0 center Chris Alexander of Iowa State has been suspended indefinitely from the men's basketball program for a violation of team rules. The suspension resulted from a fight at a local bar involving Alexander during the weekend. Alexander was charged with serious assault, which is a serious misdemeanor. He faces one year in jail time and/or a $1,500 fine if convicted. Alexander was brought to the Ames Police Department and later released on his own recognizance.

6-5 shooting guard Jerome Harper of Iowa State will miss the first semester and will likely be unavailable for the Cyclones this season. Harper must pass one more test before he can received his GED. He has already received his AA degree from Indian Hills (IA) CC. Harper was also in the news recently in Ottumwa, where he was arrested twice this summer.
