After an abysmal first half of the season, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals were dead last in the Texas League in nearly every major statistical category. After a 25-45 start, the Naturals have started to turn it around. Since they double-A all-star break, they have been 13-13 and have been showing signs of life.

The Midwest League on Friday announced its 2011 All-Star teams, and four Kane County Cougars were selected to represent the Western Division. Second baseman Gerard Hall and pitchers Sugar Ray Marimon, Leonel Santiago, and Greg Billo will all be present as the Western Division All-Stars battle the East on June 21 at Modern Woodmen Park, home of the Quad Cities (IA) River Bandits.

Kane County's Sugar Ray Marimon and Chas Byrne combined to throw a no-hitter in the Cougars' 2-0 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Wednesday night. The Royals organization celebrated an outstanding day on Saturday as the big league club and all four affiliates won their games. In the minors, the Royals received excellent pitching across the board, as Vin Mazzaro, Mario Santiago, Noel Arguelles, and Sugar Ray Marimon all turned in fine starts. Meanwhile, Kane County's Alex Llanos had a career day, driving in all five runs in the Cougars' win.

It was a heavy schedule in the Royals' minor leagues on Tuesday night, as all four full-season affiliates were in action, and NW Arkansas played a doubleheader. The Naturals split their twin-bill, while the O-Royals and Bees both won their games.
