Seniors Invited to NABC College All-Star Game

Twenty-two players will participate in the DiGiorno College All-Star Game on Friday, April 4. The annual game is coordinated by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). It will be held at 5 p.m. CDT at the Alamodome and will be televised on CSTV. The American Team is coached by recently retired South Carolina coach Dave Odom. Clemson's Oliver Purnell will coach the National Team.

Randle Undergoes Surgery

Illinois junior forward Brian Randle underwent surgery this morning to repair a torn muscle in his groin/abdominal area. Randle had been experiencing pain in the same area where he had surgery on Nov. 17.

The fifth player featured in the IlliniBoard.com Summer Series is junior small forward Brian Randle. Last season Randle was known as Illinois' defensive stopper and for his thunderous dunks. Heading into 2006-2007 the Illini will need the athletic junior to step up his offensive game even more.

Illini Pound It Inside to Overtake Hoosiers

It was the Illini's annual Paint the Hall Orange game, and the Illini needed to come through with a win to stay tied in the loss column in the race for the Big Ten Championship. The Illini jumped out to a quick double digit lead, and were able to hold it throughout the game en route to a 70-58 victory. Illinois was led by James Augustine's double double, and Brian Randle's 12 points, 5 rebounds, and one amazing posterization of Marco Killingsworth.

Illini Dine on Badgers' Home Cooking

The Illini traveled to Madison, WI, on Tuesday night looking to get the ever elusive road win in the Big Ten, and put themselves one up in the race for the Big Ten Championship. Things started out bleakly for the Illini, but after a bold coaching decision by Bruce Weber started a 19-0 Illinois run, a run from which they would never look back. Rich McBride's 16 points, and Brian Randle's 13 rebounds led the Illini en route to their 66-51 win in Madison.

When you ask a coach to give you his/her definition of an athlete, you get a different answer every time. I can assure you that when you ask that same question about Illinois forward Brian Randle you will get all kinds of adjectives to describe him.
