Mike Travis wil not be a Red Raider next fall

6-8 forward Mike Travis of City College of San Francisco is expected to receive a release from his scholarship at Texas Tech after deciding to play closer to his home in San Francisco. He signed with Tech in November but later encountered personal problems. He is likely to find a job next semester and help his family according to Brad Duggan, the athletics department chairperson at CCSF. He has not decided where he'll play in the future. CCSf is currently 16-11

Fort Worth Dunbar wins Whataburger Basketball Tour

Lance Jackson scored 28 points to lead Fort Worth Dunbar to an 87-84 win over Monroe (LA) Ouachita Parish in the 45th Whataburger Basketball Tournament Orange Division championship. Ouachita Parish's Jay Jackson had a game and tournament-high 45 points as he made seven three-pointers.
