Georgia beat astronomical odds by winning four games – two in one day – en route to the SEC Tournament title last weekend. Great play from senior point guard Sundiata Gaines was instrumental.
He had made just 4 of his previous 26 field-goal attempts. He had scored a mere 12 points in the previous nine games combined. He had not started a Tennessee basketball game since Jan. 22 and played just five mop-up minutes a few days earlier against Kentucky.
Tennessee basketball fans will be saying farewell to three seniors – Chris Lofton, JaJuan Smith and Jordan Howell – Sunday afternoon at Thompson-Boling Arena. It could be a long goodbye, however.
It takes more than great players doing great things to produce a great season. It takes an occasional contribution from an unexpected source.

Tennessee will be looking for better play from its point guards when the Vols host Arkansas tonight at 8 in Thompson-Boling Arena. Based on Saturday's game at LSU, it can't get much worse.
