Like Bob Geldof & the Boomtown Rats, the New Orleans Pelicans really "Don't Like Mondays." For the 3rd consecutive Monday, the Pels ended up on the losing end of the final score, but ironically, they are 7-0 on all the other nights of the week during that same span. The hot Grizzlies, winners of 10 of their last 12 games, were sizzling from the field tonight shooting 61%. The game was close for 3 1/2 quarters, but in the end, the Pels were simply out-physicalled, outmuscled & outshot...

For the third consecutive year, the Pelicans annual MLK Day appearance had the outcome decided on the last possession of the game. And for the second straight year, the Pelicans came up snake eyes and lost a close game they had a great opportunity to win. On the bright side, the Pelicans played well, fought hard, and look poised & ready for their upcoming 7-game homestead beginning tomorrow night. Every December, I can't wait for the Dr. Seuss Christmas classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" to come on network television....and tonight was the night. Perhaps watching all of the good folks in Whoville get their annual holiday fleecing from Mr. Grinch gave me the inspiration for the title of this story.
