The 6-6, 230 pounder who led the California JC ranks with 25 tackles for loss and tied for the state lead in sacks with 12 will head to WSU later this summer with three to play two.

SIGNING DAY WAS more than a week ago but defensive end Niko Aumua – who led the California junior college ranks with 25 tackles-for-loss this past season – still doesn't have that LOI check-mark next to his name on the commit list. THE PAPERWORK IS complete, his Letter of Intent has been signed off on and as WSU stated in a release late Thursday afternoon, Mansel Simmons is now officially in the crimson fold. Simmons, (6-5, 231), out of Sheldon High in Sacramento got serious looks by college recruiters for his basketball talents. But he'll be taking that athleticism and leaping ability with him to the gridiron.

It's been a long, circuitous route for Contra Costa DE Niki Aumua (6-6, 225) to get where he is today, but the hard work he's put in over the past year paid off recently when he visited the one D-1 school that has offered him -- Washington State.
