Wesley Washington, a 6-foot-3 guard from Compton (CA) CC, signed with Minnesota in the fall of 2002, but questions surrounding his standardized test score caused the administration to deny his admission. He enrolled in classes at Yapavai (AZ) CC, but left after head coach Brooks Thompson became an assistant at Arizona State, and Washington will play at Compton this year. Kevin Henderson transfers to California CC

Kevin Henderson, a 6-foot-3 guard who played last year at Garden City (KS) CC, has transferred to Compton (CA) CC. Henderson averaged 14.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game as a freshman. However, Henderson was recently dismissed from the team after a run-in with Garden City coaches at the Juco Challenge in Indianapolis. Henderson did not play in the final two games at the Challenge.

Wesley Washington still optimistic about Gophers

GoldenSports.Net caught up with Wesley Washington yesterday at the Minnesota-Western Illinois game. The Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei product was considered a top recruit for the Gophers. However, he was denied admission after a question about his standardized test score. He took the SAT Saturday morning and told me that he felt confident that he would receiving a passing score. He received a 900 on his last test and needs a 940 to be eligible for the second semester.
