Florida head coach Will Muschamp announced on Wednesday that former Florida quarterback Chris Leak has been added to the coaching staff as a quality control coach. Leak served as a four-year starting quarterback for the Gators, winning the school's second national championship during the 2006 season.

With the All-American Football League on ice, it's time for Chris Leak to resume his chase for a spot on an NFL roster. Chris Leak's second shot at the league may come in Kansas City. The former Gator quarterback is taking part in the Chiefs post draft rookie tryouts this weekend.

I was thumbing through last year's Gator football media guide and was looking at the long list of All-SEC performers in Orange and Blue through the years and one thing really stood out to me. I was taken aback by the number of truly outstanding players who never made first team All-SEC.

He wasn't chosen in the seven round NFL draft last week, but Chris Leak may have ended up in as good a situation as he could hope for. The former Gator quarterback will try to catch on with the Chicago Bears – a team with a pretty jumbled quarterback position. That lack of stability might work in Leak's favor if he can show the Bears anything in training camp and exhibition games.
