The Vanderbilt baseball team (35-6, 16-2 SEC) finished the week 2-2 but picked up another vital SEC series win. Rougher waters could be ahead though. The 'Dores have had two consecutive series against struggling SEC programs but will play 10 of their last 15 games against opponents that are currently ranked.

Vanderbilt pushed its winning streak to 14 games by beating UT-Martin 10-3 and then thrashing SEC newcomer Missouri 3 consecutive times. The No. 2 Commodores, who opponents are finding hard to figure out, may be getting even better. The development of several newcomers combined with the return of heralded pitcher T.J. Pecoraro from injury could make the Diamond Dores virtually unstoppable.

No. 2 ranked Vanderbilt continued its tear through the SEC schedule. After the Commodores thrashed local rival MTSU 12-3 on Tuesday the Black & Gold toyed with Ole Miss in Oxford before eventually sweeping the Rebels 3 games to none. The week started off rough for Vanderbilt baseball as the Commodores dropped one to local rival MTSU and then were downed in Friday's series opener with Florida.
