Kedren Johnson, Bright won't play in 2013-14

Vanderbilt basketball took another unfortunate pair losses on Monday as Vandy officials announced that starting guard Kedren Johnson will not play due to a violation of team rules. Meanwhile, in another bombshell, Kevin Bright is giving up college basketball and returning to Germany. In May the 'Dores lost Sheldon Jeter who left the program for personal reasons.

Three Keys: Vanderbilt at Florida

After a more convincing than the score suggests 62-55 win over Auburn on Saturday the Commodores are hitting their stride at just the right time. With just two games to go to close out the regular season Vandy has won four of five and this young squad is looking better by the game. Now comes the toughest test in the SEC in 2012-13, a trip to the No. 11 Florida Gators.

We are just three games into the SEC basketball schedule but it already feels like it is going to be one of those years. After the whole Nerlens Noel shot clock buzzer fiasco was followed by one of the ugliest offensive performances in recent memory at Arkansas the season already seemed to be on the brink.

Fuller, Bright earn SEC POTW Honors

Vanderbilt Kyle Fuller and Kevin Bright have been honored by the SEC after their impressive performances in the Commodores' 66-64 win at Xavier. Fuller was named the conference's Player of the Week while Bright was selected SEC Freshman of the Week.
