The Phillies removed both Cody Asche and Mario Hollands from the disabled list on Thursday, but only one of them will be joining the team in Philadelphia for tonight's game against Milwaukee. To make room, David Lough was designated for assignment.
After a setback while trying to come back from an oblique injury, Cody Asche seemingly had to start his spring training all over again when he started a rehab assignment. Now, he's up at the Triple-A level and completely healthy, but still in need of work.
Cody Asche joined Mario Hollands and Michael Mariot on the minor league rehab circuit Friday night, starting in left field with the Clearwater Threshers. Asche has missed the entire season so far because of an oblique injury.
The Phillies had Aaron Altherr penciled in as their right fielder for the 2016 season, but many times, things change in spring training. A wrist injury will now keep Altherr from taking over the job full-time until at least July.
