Elizabeth (NJ) St. Patrick's moved back into the College Basketball News' top twenty with two wins in the Prime Time Shootout. However, the Trenton event was not as kind to other teams as Lanier (MS) High and Jersey City (NJ) St. Anthony's fell out along with Chicago (IL) Whitney Young. Baton Rouge (LA) Woodlawn and Fort Worth (TX) Dunbar moved in. Look for plenty of changes as conference play heats up and some states start postseason play.

Brandon Bass to commit to LSU

6-8 power forward Brandon Bass of Baton Rouge (LA) Capital will announce on Friday that he will sign with LSU in the late signing period. He had previously narrowed his choice of schools to six. He was considering Mississippi State, Connecticut, Alabama, USC, Miami of Florida and LSU. Bass, who was recently named to the EA sports Roundball Classic, visited LSU, Connecticut, USC and Miami of Florida officially and had an unofficial visit to Mississippi State.
