PULLMAN – With the early bowl practices to be focused on the Cougar youth, it's the perfect time to look ahead at Washington State. After watching every Thursday Night Football practice during the 2016 regular season, I can tell you there’s plenty to be excited about. IF YOU WERE asked who is No. 2 at Washington State in tackles, lets be honest here, you probably wouldn’t guess it was a 5-10, 175-pound cornerback. He's also an outlier, as Mike Leach touched on during his radio show, when it comes to the crimson youth Cougar fans will get to know down the road.

UNLESS HE’S GETTING ready to pull one of the biggest troll jobs this recruiting cycle, it sure feels like Washington State is on the verge of landing its fifth in-state verbal pledge. Oh, and Cougar recruiting fans should keep an eye on a former 5-star QB transfer out of 'Bama. Wait. What?! That and more in the latest CF.C recruiting notebook.

PULLMAN – Washington State's scrimmage was an action packed Thursday Night Football with loads of talent on display including big performances on both sides of the ball. At the end of the day, the defense got the last laugh as they shut down the offense's final drive. Harrington, Rogers and Vinyard are guys you don't hear much about on Saturdays, but that didn't stop them from showing they have "game" when given their chance during TNF.

PULLMAN – Washington State's Thursday Night Football session was not only lopsided, it was jam packed with highlight reel plays by the offense. One Cougar quarterback, along with three receivers stole the show on just three plays that I am about to describe in further detail. Two of three big plays developed into something that I have never seen throughout my entire career as a WSU football player and probably something that has never been done in a TNF scrimmage.

ON TUESDAY's Pac-12 conference call, Mike Leach was asked if he believes the meetings and discussions between WSU officials and the Pullman police department have turned a corner in a positive direction. Leach backed away from fanning any flames for media.
