5-star running back's WSU trip plans

PULLMAN -- Social media sites have been buzzing of late, hinting that 5-star running back Joe Mixon out of Oakley, Calif. will soon be taking an unofficial trip to Pullman. Over the weekend, the Husky coaching staff played host to two important in-state recruits. One of them, Interlake (Bellevue, Wa.) Ryan Turman Turkey Day Q&A spoke Sunday with Interlake athlete Ryan Turman, who talked in-depth about a recent unofficial visit to Washington that helped solidify his choice to walk-on and play for the Huskies next year as a receiver. While the rest of us were enjoying a holiday with friends and family, the Huskies were getting ready for the Apple Cup - and Turman got a chance to see it up close and personal.

Turman to walk-on at UW

Ryan Turman didn't know much about recruiting at all until he met Myles Jack. Jack, the coveted athlete from Bellevue, had become friends with Turman even though Ryan wasn't a teammate. The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Turman went to Interlake High School, but that didn't stop the two from becoming friends.
