Gill Coliseum saw a game for the ages on Wednesday night, as postseason basketball returned to the city of Corvallis for the first time since a loudmouthed kid named Gary Payton donned the orange and black. There was a rollicking, deafening (announced) crowd of 6,394 Beaver faithful in the stands. There was a titanic comeback from 18 points down in the second half, to send the game into overtime.

Saturday night was, among other things, Senior Night for Oregon State Men's Basketball - the last chance for a class of Beavers to make one, final impression on the program that they spent years forging out of sweat, blood and free throws. More importantly, this was a senior class that would have the everlasting distinction of breaking the last major streak of futility remaining in Oregon State athletics.

Saturday's game between the Beavers and the Trojans was a microcosm of the entire season -- filled with peaks and valleys. <br><br> The Beavers went into halftime down 34-19 after hitting just 7-of-30 from the floor for a field goal percentage of 23.3-percent. But the men in black battled back in the second half to make the contest close.

Oregon State held off a furious second half rally to beat the Arizona State Sun Devils 68-61 to climb to 4-9 in the Pac-10. The game puts the Beavers a half game out of the eighth spot in the conference after USC and Washington State both lost their games tonight to drop to 5-9.
